Udawalawa is topographically known as an area which is situated in a peneplain in Southern Internal Plain. The special eye-catching landmarks are Udawalawa Reservoir which is fed by the streaming water of the river Walawe that covers 30, 821 hectares of land area and was established in 1972 the other Udawalawa National Park which is well-popular for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants being a well-known tourist destination and became the third-most visited park in the country.
