Sri Sankapala Raja Maha Viharaya
This temple is belonged to the old world which is dated back to 161-131 BC a historic, ancient rock mountain temple that situated in Rathnapura district and belonging to Pallebedda village.
By visiting this temple you would see what are dripledges in Sinhala word “Katarum” or “Katarama” carved round the rock to prevent the inside of the cave from drizzling of water when it rains heavily.
Ancient statures of Lord Buddha in many postures, Bo tree, icons of gods and godesses could be visited and most important inscriptions that are pertained to BC years inscribed the letter type of Brahamin (Brahakmanaksharas)
